The role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant delivers accurate reporting, budgeting and analysis while partnering with finance and operational stakeholders to support controls, compliance and continuous improvement in a commercial environment.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary
• Post journals, accruals and adjustments as part of month‑end close
• Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modelling and cost tracking
• Analyse financial performance by department and revenue stream
• Prepare business cases, cost‑benefit analysis and financial models
• Monitor KPIs and provide insights to support commercial decision‑making
• Partner with finance and operational leaders to build financial capability
• Assist with month‑end, year‑end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain fixed assets, bank reconciliations, cashflow and ledger accuracy
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, controls and audit requirements
About you
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification
• Proven experience in management accounting and month‑end close
• Strong skills in journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling
• Ability to analyse KPIs and deliver clear, commercial financial insights
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software
• Experience with larger ERPs highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to partner with non‑finance stakeholders
