The Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager / Building Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day maintenance and upkeep across the site.

  • Take ownership of day-to-day building upkeep, minor repairs and preventative maintenance across the site.
  • Support safe operations by completing inspections, recording work in CMMS and escalating hazards.
  • Work with contractors and occupants to provide a responsive, courteous maintenance service.

Responsibilities

  • Support the upkeep, safety and presentation of building facilities, common areas and external spaces.
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers, ensuring permits and site safety requirements are followed.
  • Carry out routine inspections, identify defects and escalate hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Complete minor repairs and general maintenance across carpentry, painting, plastering and basic plumbing.
  • Replace light globes, door hardware, locks and other building fixtures as required.
  • Undertake grounds care, rubbish removal and waste management activities.
  • Use CMMS to log maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and building safety checks.
  • Deliver courteous service to tenants, guests, residents, staff and visitors, including support with relocations and transport of goods.

About You

  • Trade foundation: Trade qualification in carpentry, maintenance, building services or similar is highly regarded.
  • Compliance-ready: White Card is highly regarded; First Aid and Working at Heights/EWP credentials are also highly regarded.
  • Licence: Current driver’s licence required.
  • Relevant experience: Background in handyman, maintenance, facilities or building services work.
  • Practical capability: Sound knowledge of general building maintenance and safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Technical breadth: Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting work.
  • Self-starter: Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and solve problems calmly.
  • Service mindset: Clear communicator with a professional, courteous and safety-first approach.
