Our Client
East Waste is a regional subsidiary of eight South Australian member councils, delivering efficient and reliable waste collection services across metropolitan Adelaide. Governed by a board of council representatives, East Waste plays a vital role in providing essential services to local communities and is committed to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

About the Role
The Dispatch & Service Delivery Lead is a newly created role responsible for coordinating East Waste’s daily waste collection operations, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will be personable, practical, and bring a genuine “we” mindset. This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem solving, and can communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders from drivers, to residents and all operational team members.

Early starts are a key feature of this role, with commencement around 4:30–5:00 am, aligned to operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily rostering, scheduling and dispatch of collection services
  • Monitor live truck movements and routes, responding to issues in real time

  • Review footage and data to identify service gaps and improve performance
  • Respond professionally to customer and resident enquiries and complaints
  • Work closely with Operations to improve routes, schedules and systems
  • Use Excel confidently for rostering and reporting, while supporting the move to improved dispatch systems
  • Promote a strong safety, compliance and customer‑focused culture

About You
You are an operationally minded communicator who can balance systems, people and service delivery. You are calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident dealing with challenging conversations.
You will bring:

  • Proven experience in rostering and scheduling within an operational environment
  • Strong system capability, with advanced Excel skills and openness to new platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • The ability to partner with the drivers and de-escalate situations with residents
  • High attention to detail and strong written skills, including professional email communication
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to challenge existing ways of working

Experience in a rostering environment, waste management, logistics, transport or local government environments will be highly regarded, but not essential.
