Assistant Manager, Integrity & Professional Standards

The Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide is a dynamic and inclusive faith community serving South Australia. It encompasses parishes and churches, offering spiritual care and pastoral support across urban and regional areas. Through Catholic Education South Australia, the Archdiocese supports a network of schools committed to excellence in learning.
 
An opportunity now exists to join their high-performing Integrity & Safeguarding Department on a permanent full-time basis. This pivotal role supports the Manager and leads a team of three direct reports.
 
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Integrity & Professional Standards, you will:

  • Supervise and manage complaints and formal grievances, including those under the National Redress Scheme, National Response Protocol, and Integrity in Our Common Mission.
  • Oversee the National Redress Scheme inbox and notifications, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Support the allocation and management of complaints through civil litigation and enact relevant safeguarding policies.
  • Lead Direct Personal Response processes related to the National Redress Scheme.
  • Develop, implement, and review Person of Concern Safety Plans.
  • Provide oversight of the Records Service, ensuring accurate and confidential record keeping.
  • Offer professional advice within the remit of Integrity and professional Standards.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Represent the Manager at meetings, committees, consultative panels, seminars and other functions as required.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in Psychology, Investigations, Counselling, Law, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in managing multiple caseloads, investigative procedures, complaints management, and leadership.
  • Familiarity and consistency working with a professional Code of Ethics and professional guidelines.
  • Advanced skills in working with multiple stakeholders, with strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high levels of confidentiality, privacy, and ethical standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly with diverse groups.
  • High degree of emotional resilience and intelligence.
  • Proficient in IT systems and documentation best practice.

Other Conditions:

  • Employment is conditional on a successful Working with Children Check prior to employment and this check is updated regularly.
  • You must attend Safe Environments for All (SEFA) training within three months of commencement.
  • Most of the work is Adelaide based; some travel within the province may be required i.e. to Port Pirie and Darwin.
  • You must have a current driver’s licence and be comfortable with using it for intra-state and inter-state travel as required.
  • Some out-of-office hours work may be required.
  • You must have full working rights in Australia.
