The Company

The Jones Group is a proudly Northern Territory owned and operated company that consists of a number of successful Agri businesses including but not limited to, North Australian Helicopters (NAH), Jones Cattle NT, Victoria River Roadhouse, The Top Springs Hotel, and the famous Coolibah Station.

The Jones Group is owned and run by Milton and Cristina Jones, and they have a rich history spanning over the past 40 years.

The Role

The Administration & Accounts Officer will play a vital role in supporting the business as the primary point of contact for all administration and accounts-related matters. This position requires a flexible and agile approach to a wide range of administrative responsibilities across the organisation.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the front office and reception duties, including answering all phone calls and email enquiries into the business
  • General office maintenance (cleaning of office area, ordering supplies as required etc.)
  • Entering invoices into the accounts payable system and reconciling supplier statements
  • Data entry of supplier invoices into Xero including coding, scanning and filing and uploading POs
  • Conducting initial debtor follow-ups as part of accounts receivable duties
  • Fuel ordering and recording for all Jones Group businesses
  • Assisting/ coordinating repairs & maintenance across all properties
  • Liaising with contractors and assist with drafting applications & acquittal paperwork
  • General banking duties and responsibility for Petty Cash
  • Coordinating deliveries between businesses
  • Managing all aspects of vehicle registrations, including renewals, inspections, and pastoral requirements
  • Providing comprehensive Z Reads of all transactions/ statuses during a particular shift or day
  • Travelling to other Jones Group locations for business needs as required
  • Assisting with any ad hoc administration duties as required
