Our Client

Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend, is an internationally recognised, world-class motorsport and tourism destination. Unique in offering all major motorsport disciplines through one venue, the facility features circuit racing for cars and motorcycles, Australia’s premier dragway, a purpose-built drift circuit, karting, rallycross, driver training, off-road and 4WD experiences. Visitors can enjoy a central Welcome Centre showcasing rare vehicles, dine at Apex Bar x Dining overlooking Pit Lane, and stay trackside at the 100-room Rydges Pit Lane Hotel or BIG4 Holiday Park. The Park hosts international events, national racing series, grassroots motorsport, driver education programs and corporate experiences.

An opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the company on a full-time basis – primarily based at their Kensington office with weekly visits up to Tailem Bend.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager your duties will include:

  • Owning the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle, including reconciliations, journals and general ledger integrity
  • Directly manage, review and develop the work of the Accountant and Data Clerk, ensuring output meets required standards of accuracy and timeliness
  • Developing and embedding checklists, processes and standard operating procedures across the accounting function to support consistent, disciplined ways of working
  • Contributing to budget creation and financial forecasting activities, comparing actual performance with projected figures
  • Ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and substantiated on a regular, disciplined cycle
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end close and statutory reporting requirements, including tax lodgements
  • Acting as the key point of technical accounting knowledge within the finance team, supporting the Finance Manager’s engagement with business unit heads
  • Supporting external tax agents in the preparation of tax returns, analysing accounts and responding to complex queries relating to the business’s taxation position
  • Contributing to the development and application of accounting policy in line with tax, banking and other regulatory requirements
  • Fostering a culture of accountability and attention to detail across the accounting function
  • Any other duties as requested from time to time

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field + full CA/CPA membership
  • Previous experience working in a financial accounting role with a minimum of 4+ years of experience
  • Advanced Excel skills demonstrated experience with financial modelling and previous ERP exposure e.g. Microsoft Business Central
