Our Client

Perks People Solutions has partnered with ASDAM (Australian Sovereign Defence and Advanced Manufacturing) – a leading Australian defence, aerospace and advanced manufacturing group delivering end-to-end capability across design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and sustainment.

Operating through a portfolio of specialist businesses, ASDAM supports major defence and industrial programs and plays a key role in strengthening Australia’s sovereign manufacturing capability.

They are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner on a full-time basis to join their Human Resources team. This position supports South Australian operations across Levett Engineering (Elizabeth) and Rosebank Engineering (Wingfield). This is a hands‑on role offering flexibility, stability, and strong on‑the‑job support within a collaborative environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR (VIC & SA), you will act as the primary HR Business Partner to the General Managers and Leadership Teams at each site to deliver people initiatives that support business performance, workforce capability and employee engagement. This is a true business partnering role where you will translate group HR frameworks into fit-for-purpose, site-based solutions, supporting workforce capability, employee engagement and business performance.

You will play a key role across workforce planning, talent attraction, employee relations, leadership development and organisational change – building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to both local and broader HR initiatives.

Duties will include:

  • Acting as the primary HR Business Partner to site-based General Managers, delivering commercially focused people advice that supports operational performance, workforce capability and business growth
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders, providing coaching and guidance on leadership effectiveness, team performance and employee engagement
  • Translating business needs into tailored, practical HR solutions aligned with broader organisational objectives
  • Providing regular workforce insights, talent metrics and data-led recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Leading workforce planning activities, identifying current and future capability needs and building robust succession and talent pipelines
  • Partnering with hiring leaders to deliver effective talent attraction, recruitment and employer branding strategies across both sites
  • Driving onboarding and employee experience initiatives that improve retention, engagement and long-term workforce stability
  • Collaborating with Group HR to implement talent management, reward and leadership development programs across the business
  • Providing expert advice on employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations and complex people issues
  • Ensuring consistent application of employment legislation, industrial instruments and internal policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
  • Contributing to broader HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing HR service delivery and organisational capability
  • Supporting Work Health & Safety and return-to-work programs, partnering with leaders to promote wellbeing, safe practices and positive recovery outcomes

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in an HR Advisory or Business Partnering role within a fast-paced environment
  • A confident and capable HR Business Partner with a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to deliver without over-engineering solutions
  • Well-rounded across core HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance, recruitment and engagement
  • Strong relationship builder who quickly establishes credibility with General Managers and frontline leaders
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, operational environments, with an understanding of manufacturing and shift-based workforces
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to tailor approach across different leadership styles and navigate real-time people challenges
  • Calm, solutions-focused professional who balances compliance with pragmatism, influencing effectively without relying on hierarchy

In Return

  • Opportunity to partner directly with senior leaders and influence key operational and commercial outcomes across two critical sites
  • Varied, hands-on role combining strategic business partnering with operational HR delivery in a fast-paced environment
  • Genuine impact on workforce planning, talent development and organisational capability, with visibility across the full employee lifecycle
  • Collaborative and supportive HR function, with exposure to broader group initiatives including talent, reward and leadership development
  • Environment that values practical, solutions-focused HR, offering autonomy, stakeholder engagement and the ability to shape people outcomes
  • Competitive salary package aligned to experience
  • Role based across 2x sites – Elizabeth & Wingfield
