The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial & Commercial Officer, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, commercial accountability, and operational efficiency across the Group’s key divisions: Rail & Touring, Resorts & Lodging, and Experiences & Attractions.
Duties will include:
- Providing strategic financial insights and decision support to the CFO, CEO and shareholders to inform business direction
- Contributing to the development and execution of the Group’s finance strategy
- Leading Group-wide planning processes including budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial modelling
- Supporting the development of the 5-year strategic plan, ensuring robust financial assumptions and scenario analysis
- Driving and continuously evaluate Group financial performance, identifying opportunities to optimise outcomes
- Overseeing period-end processes and deliver high-quality, timely reporting to the CFO, CEO, MDs and Board
- Leading enterprise-wide efficiency initiatives and transformation programs to enhance organisational performance
- Supporting capital planning, investment evaluation and project approval processes
- Providing effective leadership to divisional GM Finance roles and the broader Finance Operations function
- Overseeing commercial and contractual governance, ensuring rigorous review processes and Delegation of Authority compliance
- Delivering accurate, timely and insightful reporting to external stakeholders including shareholders, auditors and advisors
- Championing systems, process and data improvements to enable efficient, scalable financial management and reporting
- Developing, mentoring and uplifting finance capability, building a high-performing and future-ready team
- Leading performance management processes, including regular reviews and ongoing development of direct reports
About You
- Demonstrated success in a similar role for a company of similar scale and complexity
- Relevant Finance or Accounting tertiary qualification and CA/CPA professional membership
- Advanced strategic financial capability, with deep technical expertise and a highly commercial mindset with exceptional business acumen
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Results-driven, delivery-focused approach with a strong track record in transformation and change initiatives
- Collaborative and collegiate leadership style, with experience operating in national or matrixed environments
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
