Chief Operating Officer

As the business enters its next phase of growth, Scaffidi Group is seeking a highly capable Chief Operating Officer (COO) to work closely with the CEO and lead all operational functions of the business.

The opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will provide strategic and operational leadership across Buying, Planning, Marketing, Project Management, People & Culture and Business Development.

This is a pivotal executive role with responsibility for lifting operational standards, strengthening leadership capability, embedding structure and consistency, and ensuring the organisation is well positioned for sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide executive leadership across all operational functions ensuring alignment with business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Lead and develop senior operational leaders, setting clear expectations, accountability and performance standards.
  • Drive operational excellence across the pharmacy network, improving consistency, productivity, compliance and customer experience.
  • Oversee commercial performance levers including buying, planning, promotions and stock strategy to support sustainable profitability.
  • Champion people, culture and capability uplift, including workforce planning, leadership development and succession.
  • Ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance across all operational activities.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and executive team to deliver strategic initiatives, transformation and growth programs.

About you

You are a structured, organised and energetic executive leader with strong commercial acumen and high emotional intelligence. You bring the confidence to raise standards, the pragmatism to operate in a fast‑moving environment, and the leadership capability to bring people on the journey.

You will bring:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in multi‑site retail, pharmacy or a healthcare business.
  • Demonstrated experience leading HR, Planning, projects and marketing functions
  • A proven track record in leading complex, distributed operations.
  • Strong commercial, planning and performance management capability.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to challenge and influence.
  • High standards around governance, compliance and operational discipline.
