Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A

Own divisional planning, fair value assessment, integrated budgeting and forecasting, and monthly performance reporting to the executive and Board

Our Client

Yumbah is proudly positioned as Australia’s leading aquaculture company. With operations across South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales, they sustainably farm abalone, oysters, mussels and kingfish for both domestic and international markets, and supply oyster spat to the South Australian oyster industry. Driven by their core values of integrity, daring and teamwork, we are committed to supporting our people and delivering a sustainable source of premium seafood protein to our customers.

An opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A to join the team based in Kent Town on a full time, permanent basis.

The Role

Yumbah is a growth-stage aquaculture business in a period of rapid expansion, supported by both acquisitions and ongoing organic growth. This trajectory is underpinned by a finance function that is continuing to be enhanced.

This role acts as the dedicated FP&A lead for a species division, with exposure across other areas over time. Partnering closely with the FP&A Manager, Species GM, and COO, you will own divisional planning, fair value assessment, integrated budgeting and forecasting, and monthly performance reporting to the executive and Board. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Translate operational and biological performance into clear financial outcomes for the assigned species division
  • Own the monthly Mass Balance refresh, S&OP cycle, and fair value assessment
  • Build and maintain the integrated three-way financial model for the division
  • Partner with the Species GM, COO, and operational leaders on budget, forecast, capex, and pricing decisions
  • Provide constructive challenge on variance drivers, forecasts, and operational assumptions
  • Contribute to the ongoing uplift of the FP&A function alongside the CFO and FP&A Manager
  • Act as the analytical backbone for a highly complex, operationally driven aquaculture business during a significant growth phase
  • Play a key role in shaping and strengthening a finance function in active build

About You

  • 5 + years of experience as a Senior Analyst with strong financial modelling, business partnering and commercial advisory experience
  • Sector experience is not essential to be considered. Yumbah will invest in teaching you this providing your modelling and analytical foundations are strong.
  • Candidates from FMCG manufacturing, agribusiness, mining and resources, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, financial services, professional services and big 4 are all encouraged to apply
  • Architect’s instinct. You think in systems and dependencies before detail. You design for replication rather than solving in isolation.
  • Constructive challenger. You are willing to push back on operational assumptions, capex business cases and forecast inputs with evidence-based analysis, while keeping working relationships intact.
  • Operational fluency. You will be on pens, in hatcheries, walking oyster racks. Good FP&A here is impossible without operational context, and that means time on site, not just time in spreadsheets.
  • Tech curiosity. You treat AI-assisted modelling, BI tools and workflow automation as professional leverage, not buzzwords or threats. You will help evolve our toolkit, not just use it.
  • Builder mindset. You are energised by ambiguity and active build, not destabilised by it. Templates and methodology will change during your tenure. You will help shape that change.

In Return

  • Strong opportunity to develop your expertise in integrated, three-way modelling across a complex, national business and AASB141 fair value methodology
  • AI and tech forward business with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Direct exposure to acquisition integration during the largest growth period in the company’s history
  • CFO adjacent visibility on a key species, with line of sight into Board reporting, audit interaction and strategic decision making
  • Adelaide based role in Kent Town with travel to regional and operational sites as required
  • Remuneration is competitive and aligned to a senior FP&A role of this complexity
