Perks People Solutions are partnering with YES Group – a market-leading renewable energy platform with end-to-end capability across the National Electricity Market. They develop, build, own, operate and optimise mid-scale solar, battery projects – supplying energy to commercial and industrial customers under their retail license while also managing and trading generation for asset owners.
An opportunity now exists for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a part-time, fixed term contract basis for 12 months.
The Role
Reporting into the Group Finance Manager and working closely alongside the Accountant’s you’ll be responsible for:
- Assisting with customers, vendors, and employees’ enquiries
- Maintaining and update vendor and customer master data in the ERP system (Wiise)
- Liaising with both internal and external parties on queries resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with invoice preparation
- Supporting the preparation of audit documentation for external auditors
- Assisting with month end standard journals and accruals to ensure income and costs are allocated to the appropriate cost centres
- Supporting the Project teams with Purchase Order preparation and processes
- Assisting with bank reconciliation
- Assisting with end of month reconciliation tasks, including intercompany transactions
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process
- Assisting with preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS, IAS, and Payroll tax statements
- Assisting with asset register and capital expenditure reconciliation and reporting
- Contributing to the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
- Responding to financial enquiries by gathering, analysing, and interpreting relevant data
- Preparing ad hoc management reports as required
- Supporting the Finance Team with ad hoc tasks and projects as required
About You
We’re open to receiving applications from a variety of candidates including experienced Finance Officers or Bookkeepers looking to step up and take on more accounting duties or experienced Accountants/Senior Accountants looking to take on a flexible, part time role. Key criteria include:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent OR equivalent experience working in a finance related role in a commercial business
- Strong, proven understanding of accounting principles, highly motivated and a “can-do” attitude
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate and build effective working relationships across the business
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a collaborative mindset
- Previous experience using a larger ERP system and medium to advanced Excel skills will be highly regarded
