They specialise in innovative solutions for the export of Australian commodities, and they partner with customers and investors to use a flexible model that positions port infrastructure close to the product’s origin. Supporting their strategic growth objectives is a strong leadership team and board with specialised market knowledge and expertise. An opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Accountant/Finance Manager to join their team permanently based in their Adelaide CBD office.
The Role
Reporting through to the Chief Financial Officer your duties will include:
- Preparing monthly financial reports including profit & loss, balance sheet and cashflow
- Preparing monthly management reports including all commentary, analysis and variance investigation
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of the Board Pack
- Assisting with cost and other benchmarking across business units to be able to compare financial performance
- Completing balance sheet reconciliation and reviewing monthly accruals and standard journals
- Supporting compliance tasks like statutory accounts, BAS and tax returns
- Completing the period close schedule
- Managing the year-end annual audit process
- Reviewing financial process controls to ensure they are operating effectively and meet audit requirements
- Continuous improvement activities around systems and reporting
- Supervision of two direct reports
About You
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation and compliance
- Exposure Xero or other equivalent financial systems
- Degree qualified + full CA or CPA membership
- Experience working in logistics, supply chain or agriculture industry will be highly regarded
