Finance Officer

The Associated Newsagents Cooperative Limited (ANCOL) is a well-established, manufacturer and distributor of office supplies into newsagencies, schools and offices nationally. Headquartered in Adelaide, they have continued to sustainably grow since establishment, and this has been underpinned by their personalised service and strong customer focus. An opportunity now exists for an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent, part time basis.

The Role

Your role will be varied, and you’ll be responsible for a range of tasks to support the CFO. Duties include: 

  • End to end accounts payable processing including entry of invoices and managing multiple batch payment runs and completing associated reconciliations
  • Supporting with accounts receivable including receipting payments and issuing invoices
  • Supporting the month end and financial year end close off
  • Supporting the CFO with BAS preparation and other statutory obligations as required
  • Liaising with external parties including the external auditors to provide information as required
  • Any other accounts related tasks and support as required by the business e.g. share register maintenance and insurance renewals

About You 

  • Previous accounts experience in a similar role with the ability to learn and pick up new systems and tasks with ease
  • Working knowledge of Excel and previous experience entering data into spreadsheets
  • Willingness to support other team members with other administrative and finance related tasks as required
  • Excellent communication skills and trustworthy with the ability to exercise discretion
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
